About Tina
Tina Dierna, LMSW, brings 13 years of experience to her work as a therapist at Mobile Counseling of New York. She earned her Master of Social Work from Adelphi University in 2013 and has completed additional training in young adult career counseling. Tina specializes in supporting tweens, adolescents, young adults, women, single mothers, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals with disabilities as they navigate anxiety, depression, stress management, trauma recovery, emotional regulation, self-esteem and confidence building, relationship challenges, parenting, and identity exploration. She draws from a diverse clinical toolkit that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Techniques, Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care, Positive Psychology, and Wellness & Lifestyle Coaching.
Tina's approach to counseling is rooted in compassion, authenticity, and meeting people where they are. She believes in creating a safe, supportive environment where individuals feel heard, respected, and empowered to recognize their own strengths. Her work is grounded in a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and person-centered framework, with a strong focus on helping youth and families build confidence, resilience, self-advocacy skills, and meaningful connections within their communities. Tina values collaboration and believes healing and growth happen through trust, consistency, creativity, and genuine human connection.
What inspired Tina to become a therapist was her own journey through healing, growth, and rebuilding her life — an experience that fuels her commitment to helping others rediscover their strength. What she finds most rewarding about this work is witnessing people begin to believe in themselves again, supporting them through difficult moments while helping them uncover their potential, voice, and sense of purpose. Working with youth and families to remove barriers, celebrate progress, and create opportunities for success is deeply meaningful to her. Outside of her clinical work, Tina loves anything that keeps her active, creative, and connected — from playing hockey and traveling the world to DIY projects, gardening, and being outdoors. She values motivating others and finding joy in both hard work and simple moments.
