About Stacy
Stacy Cullen, LCSW, brings 16 years of dedicated experience to her practice at Mobile Counseling of New York, where she specializes in supporting adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, and depression. She earned her Master of Social Work from SUNY Albany in 2011 and has pursued advanced training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), enhancing her ability to provide evidence-based care. Stacy's journey into therapy was shaped by both personal experiences and her professional commitment to helping others feel heard and understood in a world where many feel compelled to hide their true selves.
Stacy's therapeutic approach centers on empowering clients to discover their own solutions while providing them with essential tools for growth and healing. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and DBT modalities, she creates a nonjudgmental environment where individuals feel secure, respected, and empowered to be themselves. Understanding the challenges of building trust, Stacy is committed to establishing a safe therapeutic space where clients can experience breakthroughs, gain understanding, and find meaningful emotional release. She believes deeply in valuing, caring for, and accepting people without judgment while helping them build resilience and discover purpose in their lives.
The most rewarding aspect of Stacy's work is witnessing her clients' transformations and contributing to reducing the stigma around mental illness. She finds profound fulfillment in supporting others as they grow and develop the strength to navigate life's challenges. When she's not in session, Stacy enjoys staying active through hiking, snowboarding, running, and horseback riding, and she loves exploring new places through travel. Currently, she's embarking on a new adventure by learning to play the cello, demonstrating her own commitment to personal growth and embracing new challenges.
