About Kimberley

With 31 years of experience, Dr. Kimberley (Kim) Zittel-Barr believes that clients are the experts of their lived experiences. Her role as a counselor is to walk by a person's side during difficult moments, actively listening, and providing guidance through individualized, evidence-based strategies.

Dr. Zittel-Barr earned her PhD from SUNY at Buffalo, School of Social Work in 1994. She holds additional certifications as an LMSW, ACSW, and in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. She specializes in life role changes — graduation, career, motherhood, fatherhood, sexual orientation, caregiving, older adulthood, and end-of-life care.

She finds it most rewarding to watch people grow, revitalize belief in themselves, and live their best life. Her joy comes from being a small part of that journey.

Kim was inspired to become a therapist when she read the book "Sybil" in class growing up. That book inspired her to want to support people through difficult, sometimes terrifying, moments in their lives.
