About Dr.
My approach to counseling is grounded in the belief that every person has strengths, abilities, and the capacity for growth, even during times when they may have difficulty recognizing those qualities in themselves. I take a person-centered and strength-based approach, meeting clients where they are and creating a space where they feel heard, respected, supported, and free to be themselves. One of the things I find most rewarding about being a therapist is having people trust me enough to allow me into their lives and to support them through difficult situations. I recognize that I cannot fix someone's life, nor do I believe that is the role of a therapist. Instead, my role is to walk alongside my clients, help them explore what they are experiencing, identify their strengths and resources, and work together to determine meaningful steps that can help them move forward. My goal is for clients to feel empowered to continue making those steps long after our work together. While I frequently incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I do not believe that one therapeutic approach fits every person or every situation. I use an individualized and flexible approach, incorporating interventions based on the client's needs, goals, experiences, and the work we are doing together. Ultimately, I view therapy as a collaborative process in which the client is the expert on their own life, while I provide support, perspective, encouragement, and therapeutic tools to help them create meaningful and sustainable change.
