With 18 years of experience, Matthew (Matt) Scheuer, LCSW, is a dedicated therapist specializing in PTSD, trauma, anxiety, depression, couples therapy, and life transitions. He works with children, adolescents, adults, veterans, LGBTQ+ individuals, the elderly, and low-income populations, offering compassionate and evidence-based support tailored to each client’s needs.
Matt earned his Master of Social Work from Rutgers University - New Brunswick in 2016 and his Bachelor’s degree from Niagara University in 2007. He is EMDR-trained and currently completing Gottman Level 1 training to deepen his work with couples.

Matt welcomes clients just as they are, meeting them wherever they stand in their journey toward healing. His ideal clients are those open to therapy, ready to explore their challenges, and willing to engage in a collaborative, supportive process.
Using a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, and Relational Therapy, Matt helps clients process trauma, manage anxiety, and put challenging situations into perspective. He believes therapy is a team effort, where clients and therapists work together to build resilience, develop coping skills, and realize their full potential.

Matt’s passion for therapy stems from a lifelong desire to help and serve others. His experiences have shaped his dedication to supporting individuals through life’s difficulties, particularly those struggling with trauma and transitions.

Outside of work, Matt loves skiing, volunteering, and traveling to far-flung places. He enjoys exploring new cultures and gaining insight into different ways of life, which enriches both his personal experiences and professional approach.

Matt is a 13-year Army veteran with two combat deployments, bringing a unique depth of understanding and experience to his work with veterans and individuals facing trauma.
