Yasmin Kiffer, LMSW
Meet Yasmin Kiffer (She/Her), a Licensed Master Social Worker and dedicated Clinician and Outreach/Marketing Coordinator with Mobile Counseling of New York (MCNY). Yasmin provides therapy to students within Buffalo Public Schools and supports adults, couples, and families statewide through telehealth.
Education & Credentials:
Yasmin earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University at Buffalo (SUNY) and her Bachelor’s in Psychology from The City College of New York (CUNY). She began her journey in mental health as a mentor for at-risk youth in the Bronx and Harlem, leading open discussions about mental health, family dynamics, and career development, an experience that continues to shape her trauma-informed, strengths-based approach today.
Areas of Specialization:
A proud bilingual clinician (English/Spanish), Yasmin is committed to breaking barriers to care within Hispanic and multicultural communities. She believes therapy should be accessible and culturally responsive, ensuring that language and cultural identity are embraced as part of the healing process.
Yasmin integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and mindfulness-based techniques into her practice, always grounded in empathy and connection. Her work reflects her belief that healing doesn’t always happen in big moments. Sometimes it’s the small, steady steps we take toward becoming who we’re meant to be.
Therapeutic Approach:
Yasmin’s approach is collaborative, compassionate, and culturally grounded. She is passionate about creating a safe, inclusive space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to navigate life’s challenges. Whether helping a student manage emotions, guiding a couple through communication struggles, or supporting an adult processing trauma, Yasmin tailors her work to each client’s individual story.
Outside of Work:
When she’s not working with clients or leading outreach initiatives, Yasmin enjoys dancing, singing, traveling, golfing, and finding creative joy in art and home design.
Her favorite quote, and one that embodies her philosophy on resilience, comes from Tupac Shakur:
“No matter how hard it gets, stick your chest out, keep your head up, and handle it.”
